WHAT IS A BID?

Vauxhall One is the Business Improvement District (BID) for Vauxhall. BIDs are established by local businesses to improve the area as a place to live, work and visit. They provide services additional to those supplied by the council and other statutory providers.

BIDs are democratically elected by their members and must hold a ballot every 5 years. Each 5-year plan focusses on the projects, values and services that matter most to the local business community.

BIDs are non-profit organisations governed by their member businesses. Funding is collected via the BID levy and reinvested directly back into the local area.

HOW WE ARE FUNDED AND WHAT WE DO WITH IT

Businesses with a rateable value of over £20,000 pay an annual levy of 1.5%. Charities, community groups and other non-profit organisations qualify for a relief in levy. This levy income is reinvested into our key focus areas for the improvement of Vauxhall: Cleaning, Greening, Safer, Better and Destination. More about our services can be found here.
