Help! I think I might be fabulous.

In “Help! I Think I Might Be Fabulous” Alfie challenges the norm and questions what it really means to be a man in a hilarious and heart-warming tale that explores pride, shame and masculinity.

In a society where boys are told to wear trousers and girls are told to wear skirts, Alfie teaches us how to come to terms with being Fabulous, taking the audience on a musical journey that spans his time at ‘Madame Leqoq’s Preparatory School for Fabulous Boys’ and his dealings with a closeted fabulous friend, John.

Due to Alfie’s privileged life of fabulousness (thanks to his drag parents) he’s unable to empathise with John’s conservative attitude towards his own fabulousness –Alfie sets his frustration with John to music. What follows is an hour of Alfie convincing both the audience and ‘John’ that gender is a construction, and that m asculinity is a destructive component of human culture. But of course he does that by singing the Village People’s YMCA in the style of Kate Nash.’

“A cleverly handled commentary on society’s obsession with masculinity.” Vada Magazine

The UK’s only Drag Prince; Alfie has been taking the UK drag and cabaret scene by storm with his unique take on and has worked alongside some of the UK’s top cabaret artists such as David Hoyle and Dickie Beau, and international drag stars such as Raja Gemini, Sharon Needles and Alaska Thunderfvck.

ALFIE ORDINARY debuted his first ever full length solo show “Help! I Think I Might Be Fabulous!” to a sold out Marlborough Theatre audience as part of Brighton Fringe 2016, and subsequently won the International Touring Bursary in a unanimous decision from The Pebble Trust. He has since toured the show around the UK and Europe and last summer performed it on the legendary Royal Vauxhall Tavern stage.
