This Chelsea Fringe, Vauxhall is celebrating becoming home to the Chelsea Gold winning garden by Hugo Bugg.

In 2014 Hugo became the youngest ever winner of the Chelsea gold medal for his incredible waterscape garden which cleverly reuses rain water to reduce the risk of flooding. Not only is this garden clever but it is also beautiful, and will now become the star attraction of the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens.

Vauxhall One Business Improvement District as part of Chelsea Fringe festival 2015 will be celebrating having such a fantastic new garden in the wonderful Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens by throwing a series of Garden parties launching on Friday 15th of May. These quintessentially British garden parties will of course involve Pimm’s, snacks, live acoustic music and a chance to explore this Chelsea Gold winner of a garden for yourself.

For the launch the star gardener himself Hugo Bugg will be there to talk through his design and the garden will officially be opened by Lib Peck leader of Lambeth council. After the speeches guests can enjoy the Cuban band, hopefully the sunshine and appreciate this amazing garden transplanted in Vauxhall. Director of Public Realm Chris Law will also be offering guided walks around the garden for guest to enjoy during the garden parties

The Hugo Bugg Garden transplant is part of the Vauxhall Missing Link Green Trail, which connects the parks and open-spaces of Vauxhall to the new and emerging Vauxhall Gallery District. This ingenious trail prevents rain water from flooding the local drains by using it to irrigate planted rain gardens. This super green design innovation is backed by Tfl, The Mayor’s Office, LB Lambeth and is brought to you by Vauxhall One, the Business Improvement District for Vauxhall, who champion Urban Regeneration.

So all are welcome to come and enjoy the garden starting on the 15th of May and occurring every Friday during the Chelsea Fringe festival; May 15th, May 22nd, May 29th, and June 5th. The garden is open to the public throughout the year so if you can’t make it during the Chelsea fringe feel free to come and visit anytime!
