Health Poverty Action and The Black Dog work together to raise funds while filling tums

The Black Dog have once again added a special dish to their menu to help raise money for Vauxhall-based Health Poverty Action and their work to strengthening global health.

Throughout the whole of October until mid-November, customers visiting The Black Dog will be able to choose a mouth-watering butternut squash and goats’ cheese risotto from the menu, where £1 from every dish sold goes directly to Health Poverty Action.

This is the second time the pub has supported such an initiative on behalf of the organisation. Earlier on in 2015, they added a wonderful wild mushroom risotto which raised £112 for Health Poverty Action. There are high hopes the new risotto will top this, with General Manager Ricci Botterill, hoping for £150 plus.

Speaking about the initiative Ricci said, “We like the fact that we can help a charity by providing a delicious dish where everyone can get on board and help just by ordering – plus customers get the satisfaction of helping out as well as leaving with a full stomach. We also love to help out charities in the local area and we especially like Health Poverty Action because their team is dedicated in providing help for those less fortunate than ourselves.”
