Vauxhall One: Christmas Appeal 2015

News October 20, 2015 - admin2020 Vauxhall One: Christmas Appeal 2015
This year Vauxhall One has three ways for businesses, charities and their staffs to support local causes and make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable residents

Giving to Vauxhall Foodbank, gifting items to Graham House hostel residents and dining at local social enterprise restaurant Mazi Mas.

Give

You can give in 3 easy steps.

  1. Go to the Tesco Gift Card Store and select a ‘Tesco Digital Gift Card’ gift type
  2. Enter the amount and select ‘Add to basket’, then ‘checkout’
  3. After you login or create an account, enter the recipient details as Vauxhall Foodbank, foodbank@christchurchlondon.org, then continue checkout process

Vauxhall Foodbank’s 12 days of Christmas aims to raise money and awareness.

Each weekday from 1st to 16th December we’ll provide a recipe inspired by the 12 Days of Christmas and an opportunity for you to fill the food baskets of families in crisis.

Donations start at £1 and are given as Tesco Digital Gift Cards, so you can be sure that the Foodbank will use your donation to purchase food.

Gift

Last year we donated 49 presents to Graham House, a local hostel whose residents face challenges such as homelessness and substance misuse.

This year our aim is to provide 66 residents with gifts to make their Christmas more festive and remind them that we care.

Vauxhall One members can support the appeal by hosting a gift basket with gift tags displayed in the lid.

Employees can then take a gift tag with the name of a Graham House resident and their requested gift (under £10), buy the gift and then return the wrapped present to the basket for Vauxhall One to collect on Thursday 17th December.

Dine

This holiday season Mazi Mas invites Vauxhall One members to have their Christmas dinners at their restaurant, based at Ovalhouse, as a way to invest in the community whilst enjoying global home cooking.

This social enterprise supports aspiring women food entrepreneurs from migrant and refugee communities by providing them with employment and the opportunity tell their stories and connect with the wider public.

The chefs have created a Christmas menu that promises to delight with cuisine from Iran, Peru, Nicaragua and Brazil.

See the Mazi Mas menu or email charlotte@mazimas.co.uk to book your Christmas dinner.

Please contact Secorro Green at secorro.green@vauxhallone.co.uk for more information on how to support our appeals.
