In June 2024, Vauxhall One began working with My Local Bobby to supply two security officers to patrol the BID area.
Since the BID’s inception, safety has consistently been identified as a top priority for member businesses. Vauxhall One’s approach is to deliver intelligence-led interventions, such as CCTV cameras, supported by an on-street presence. A team of two security officers patrols the area at key times, assisting businesses where required and providing a deterrent against low level crime and antisocial behaviour.
My Local Bobby was founded by a former Metropolitan Police Detective Chief Inspector to help create safer communities for residential and business areas. It works in close partnership with Safer Business Network and provides over 50 wardens in public realm patrols across London.
The actions of My Local Bobby officers are transparent and accountable. Every incident is recorded on body worn camera, is detailed on a reporting system and reported to the relevant parties. The team takes a proactive approach in dealing with crime and ASB, and provides a dedicated, clear and consistent point of contact to businesses for resolving issues such as theft, begging and other street nuisance.
Vauxhall One’s two SIA-qualified officers are based at the kiosk in the transport hub, but patrol the entire BID area. Their working hours are:
Tuesday: 10am to 6pm
Wednesday: 10am to 6pm
Thursday: 10am to 6pm
Friday: 4pm to midnight
Weekend: 11pm Saturday to 7am Sunday
