Stockwell Cross Two-Way Traffic System 14 May

The gyratory at Stockwell will be replaced with a two-way traffic system along Clapham Road on 14 May.

The section of South Lambeth Road, adjacent to the west side of the Memorial Garden, will be permanently closed to traffic and transformed into a new public space. Construction of this area is scheduled to be completed by the end of summer 2016.

Other changes as part of the new road layout include:
• The bus stop on South Lambeth Road will be relocated 50m north.
• Vehicles will no longer be allowed to turn left from South Lambeth Road into Clapham Road.

Vehicular access will be maintained at all times during the switchover although some lane closures will apply. Please continue to plan ahead and allow more time for your journeys through the area.
