Vauxhall Enhanced Security Service Update

News, Safer Vauxhall September 27, 2023 - Isobel Pickles Vauxhall Enhanced Security Service Update

July – August Statistics

Safer Business Network Officers conducted 121 business engagement/follow-up visits.
39 offenders were added to the SentrySIS database during July and August, up from 27 offenders added during May/June.
85 incidents were recorded during the last two months and police were involved in 12% of them (for the previous two months, May/June, police were involved in 8% of incidents reported).
£20,504 worth of property was reported stolen by businesses via SentrySIS. This included one theft of £16,000. Without the one large theft, the amount reported stolen was £4,504. 42% of this was recovered.

Top reported incidents during July/August:

– Shop theft 40
– Rogue street traders 15/ Begging 15
– Aggressive behaviour 5

The more incidents you inform/engage with us about or upload to the SentrySIS system, the more we can hold offenders to account by issuing them with Exclusion Notices banning them from all our member premises. If you could share any photographs of the offenders this would greatly assist in the identification process.

If you, or any member of your team/security wish to be added to SentrySIS, or your team needs training on how to use SentrySIS, please get in touch.

This year so far …

479 business engagement/follow-up visits have taken place since January.
113 offenders have been added to the SentrySIS database since the beginning of the year.
260 incidents have been recorded since the beginning of the year and the police have been involved in 14% of the incidents (for the same period last year the police were involved in 11% of incidents)

Top reported incidents since the beginning of the year:

– Shop Theft 85
– Aggressive Behaviour 38
– Begging 37

Vauxhall One Officers

Over the last two months, Vauxhall One Officers have been able to review and retrieve five vital pieces of CCTV footage/evidence for the Police/Counter Terrorism Team to assist them with their enquiries.

We are continuing to collate information to disseminate with our partner agencies such as Public Protection Officers, Outreach Officers, Streetlink and the Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The officers now have a new, more recognisable and smarter uniform. Look out for them visiting your premises!

Please feel free to give them a call if there is anything that you need or if you have any information or intelligence that you would like to share with us.

Call them on 07467 765 397 or email security@vauxhallone.co.uk

Working hours for the team are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10:00 – 18:00
Friday 16:00 – 24:00 and Saturday 13:00 – 22:00.

The next Safer Vauxhall Partnership Forum will take place on Wednesday 29th November, 3-4pm, at a central Vauxhall venue. To register your interest in attending, please email the team.
