Join us for a lunchtime walk around Vauxhall on Wednesday 29th May, as we learn more about the Wonderful Women of Vauxhall!
This summer, we’re partnering with Lambeth Tour Guides Association to bring you a series of lunchtime walks that will uncover the secrets of Vauxhall’s illustrious past and introduce you to the fascinating characters and legends of our patch of south London. It’s time to get out of the office and learn more about the place where you work!
Our first walk will introduce you to a variety of women past, and more recent, in Vauxhall: Rachel, Eleanor, Hannah, Florence, Daphne, Denise, Georgina, Claudia, Diana and Amy and more.
Pack a sandwich, bring a drink for this 1 hour walk in the footsteps of :
-The wife of the original ‘Faulk’, giving us the name Vauxhall
– Independent entrepreneurs in the man’s world of 19th century business
– Ladies who entertained inside, outdoors, up in the air…
– Ground-breaking women of colour
– A Princess and a Czar
Some are fun, some are fictitious. All will give you a side order of food for thought with your midweek lunchbox and a new dimension of female focus to SE11.
1pm start at Vauxhall Station/ tube exit/bus station
2pm end at Kennington Lane
FREE for employees of Vauxhall One member businesses, but please CLICK HERE to reserve your place in advance.
