Last year property maintenance company Axis, based in Vauxhall, donated over £193,000 through their Foundation to help people in the community in need of care, support or just a helping hand.

The Axis Foundation was set up to provide relief to local charities and causes in need of support and 2016 was one of their biggest years of giving. They supported over 30 different causes, from funding care at local hospices to creating a softplay room for a children’s playgroup.

In addition to over £91,500 of donations, funds are raised throughout the year from activities including; dressing up, baking, running, waxing, discos and the Axis Foundation annual charity ball that last year raised in excess of £100,000 with the help of supply chain partners.

Axis’ two long-term charity partners Demelza Hospice Care for Children and Sparks received a combined £55,000 to continue their work.

The donations helped a diverse range of people, including senior members of the community cared for by Contact the Elderly to the youngsters of Swale Gloves boxing academy. If you or anyone you know thinks that the Axis Foundation can help you, make sure you head to their website axisfoundation.org and fill out their application form.

John Hayes, Axis’ Chief Executive and Foundation Trustee, commented; “I hope everyone involved in the Foundation is as proud as I am to provide this amount of support to people and projects that make a big difference in our community.”
