In November 2022, the Mayor of London awarded the London Borough of Lambeth funding to create a new Night Time Enterprise Zone (NTEZ) in Vauxhall.
Lambeth will receive £130,000 to deliver a programme that supports local businesses by making Vauxhall safer and more welcoming after 6pm, and encouraging greater use of the area at night.
Night Time Enterprise Zones aim to:
Council plans include activating Vauxhall’s unique spaces (such as the tunnels and railway arches), and celebrating the area’s LGBTQI+ history. They will also identify sites that could be used to support culture, entertainment, leisure, education, training and wellbeing after dark.
Vauxhall One is working closely with Lambeth’s Business, Culture & Investment team to ensure that the NTEZ meets the needs of businesses in the area.
Vauxhall One’s Chief Executive, Bernard Collier, said, “We’re excited about the Vauxhall Night Time Enterprise Zone. This has always been a place of entertainment and fun, and we want to make the area a key destination for people to enjoy after dark. Vauxhall is unique and it’s important that we celebrate that – which is why we’re working closely with Lambeth Council to make sure that the NTEZ is delivered in a way that supports local businesses, their staff and their customers.”
