Over 140 chocolate eggs were donated to Vauxhall One Easter Egg Appeal

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Vauxhall One Easter Egg Appeal.

Over 140 chocolate eggs were donated to the Vauxhall Foodbank on 25 March and 1 April, making a wonderful surprise for local children using the Foodbank. The donated eggs were given to local families in crisis as part of their 3-day emergency food packages.

“The eggs were received with such joy,” says Faith Purcell, Project Manager at Vauxhall Foodbank. “Many, many carers and kids were so surprised to get an Easter Egg. We have found that offering people a bit of ‘luxury’ amongst the food that they desperately need helps to bring a real feeling of hope to their situation. And it’s from this hope that people are able to start walking out of the crisis that brought them to us in the first place.”

The Foodbank will continue to distribute chocolate eggs this month to celebrate Easter and the spring season and if you would like to learn more or get involved, please contact Vauxhall Foodbank at foodbank@christchurchlondon.org.

You can also help by becoming a regular donor (http://goo.gl/AfCzA3) so that the Foodbank can ‘target buy’ the exact food items for the week, or donating items from this week’s shopping list (http://goo.gl/AV4I3l).
