A rainbow ramble through Vauxhall’s LGBTQ+ history.
On this early evening walk you’ll visit iconic venues, learn about important sites from the past, see some stunning street art and discover legendary local LGBTQ+ characters and heroes along the way.
Walking in the footsteps of local LGBTQ+ artists, activists and clubbers, you’ll get a brief introduction to the area’s queer stories and histories from qualified Lambeth Tour Guides, Adrian Gibson and Clare Truscott, who have been hanging out in the local LGBTQ+ venues for decades.
This circular stroll will last about 90 minutes. The route is on flat surfaces and is suitable for most abilities. We won’t venture far from Vauxhall station. Please contact us if you have specific mobility needs so we can adapt the walk as needed. This walk is most suitable for those aged 18+, due to some adult content and ending at licensed premises.
The walk will end at a local venue at 7pm. You are welcome to join your guides for a drink before you head home (or out!).
Meet at Vauxhall Bus Station, Exit 2, near Bus Stop A.
