Vauxhall is entering an important moment. As we prepare to shape plans for the coming financial year and develop our five-year strategy for 2027-32, now is the perfect opportunity for local businesses and workers to share their views on what Vauxhall needs to thrive.
Through our Vision for Vauxhall survey, we have been asking a simple but powerful set of questions:
- What do businesses need right now?
- What should Vauxhall look like in five years’ time?
- What is required to turn that vision into reality?
Responses so far have reinforced just how valuable local insight is, and how varied experiences of Vauxhall can be across different sectors and roles.
For Vauxhall One, listening comes first. Since 2012, feedback from businesses has directly shaped the focus of our work. It has helped us to prioritise cleaner streets, improved safety, greener public spaces and an annual programme of free community events that bring more people into the area. These improvements didn’t happen in isolation; they were informed by what businesses told us mattered most to their operations, their staff and their customers.
This latest survey builds on that approach. It is not about testing pre-set ideas or asking for lengthy submissions. Even short responses are meaningful. A few lines about day-to-day challenges, ambitions for the area or barriers to growth can highlight patterns that help us set the right priorities for the years ahead.
While we welcome input from everyone who works in Vauxhall, we particularly want to hear business voices. Business owners, managers and decision-makers have a unique perspective on trading conditions, footfall, safety, recruitment and investment. As an organisation working on behalf of local businesses, it is essential that our next five-year plan reflects those realities.
At the same time, Vauxhall’s workforce plays a crucial role in shaping the character and success of the area. Insights from people who commute, work late hours or spend their lunch breaks locally help us understand how Vauxhall functions throughout the day and into the evening, and what would make it a better place to work.
The feedback gathered through the survey will be used to inform priorities for the coming financial year; shape Vauxhall One’s strategic plan for 2027–2032; guide future projects, partnerships and investment decisions; and ensure our work continues to respond to real, on-the-ground needs.
With a BID renewal ballot ahead in November, it is particularly important that our plans are rooted in a clear and representative understanding of what the local business community wants and needs. Taking the time to contribute now helps ensure that the direction we take reflects shared ambitions for Vauxhall’s future.
As we begin to move from listening to planning, this is the moment to add your voice. If you haven’t yet completed the Vision for Vauxhall survey, we encourage you to do so now and help shape what comes next.
