As you may have seen in the media, protest activity is expected in London this weekend. The planned march has been banned by the Home Secretary, however static protests are still due to take place.
In order to try to keep opposing protests apart, the Thames will be used to separate them. One protest will take place on the Lambeth side and one on the Westminster side of the river.
The protest on the Lambeth side will take place on Albert Embankment between Black Prince Road and Tinworth Street. This will cause disruption to the local community due to road closures but at this time we do not have any confirmation of which roads will be closed.
Our local Metropolitan Police team will be at the protest on the Lambeth side and Inspector Darren Watson will be responsible for community engagement. Businesses in the area are welcome to contact him at any time if they have any concerns or questions.
