Vauxhall One has installed a series of bright planters on Albert Embankment, promoting the Vauxhall message to ‘love different’. The 13 eye-catching planters use evergreen Buxus planting to give a year-round pop of colour and extra greening to one of Vauxhall’s main pedestrian walkways.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Vauxhall One has undertaken multiple projects to improve the area’s public realm, promoting inclusivity and the unique off-beat spirit at the heart of Vauxhall through its ‘love different’ installations. In addition to the new Albert Embankment planters, the team has completed a mural on New Spring Gardens Walk, as well as the recent green wall on South Lambeth Place, both displaying ‘love different’ artwork.
Feedback from local businesses and the general public in Vauxhall One’s recent surveys showed that there was a desire for more greening on Albert Embankment and the area’s busier roads. The new planters form part of Vauxhall One’s redevelopment of Albert Embankment in response to this, including a large-scale deep clean of the river wall and ongoing greening in the Clean Air Garden, which runs alongside the businesses in Vauxhall’s arches.
