The Vauxhall One ballot closes at 5pm on Thursday 5 November. To make sure your vote counts, post your completed ballot paper by tomorrow, Thursday 29 October. Missed the post? We’ll collect it from you and hand-deliver it.
Your vote, your Vauxhall
Eligible businesses in Vauxhall are voting on whether Vauxhall One should continue for another five years, from 2027 to 2032.
Since 2012, businesses have funded a cleaner, safer, greener and busier Vauxhall through the BID levy. In 2021, almost 90% of voters backed renewal. This year, the decision is yours again, and it will only be made by the businesses that return their ballot paper.
Hear from your neighbours
We asked some of our member businesses why Vauxhall One matters to them. Here’s what they said.
What’s at stake
The BID levy pays for every service Vauxhall One delivers. If the ballot does not achieve a majority yes vote, the levy ends on 31 March 2027, and these services end with it:
- Extra cleaning of streets, pedestrian tunnels and street furniture, including the removal of around 25 pieces of graffiti every week.
- Day and night time safety patrols every week, focused on the night time economy, the station and the areas businesses tell us matter most.
- 13 CCTV cameras, with footage regularly supplied to the Metropolitan Police.
- The Business Crime Reduction Partnership, which brings police, British Transport Police, Lambeth Council, TfL and businesses together to act on crime and antisocial behaviour.
- Greening and planting, including hanging baskets, the Christmas tree, the Clean Air Garden on Albert Embankment, pocket gardens and the living wall.
- Free events that bring thousands of people into the area, including Summer Screens, Bearpit Karaoke and the Vauxhall May Fair.
- Marketing that puts Vauxhall on the map. The 2026 Summer Season campaign reached 13 million impressions.
- Business support, including subsidised First Aid training, free bicycle maintenance, and a recycling scheme that helped members recycle 134 tonnes of material and 8 tonnes of food waste in 2025.
Lambeth Council’s own services, such as day-to-day street sweeping and bin collections, would continue. Everything above is additional, and none of it would continue without the BID.
Businesses would also lose their collective voice at a time of major change in Vauxhall, with ongoing construction, transport changes and new development.
A Yes vote secures the next five years
A Yes vote keeps this work going and funds the 2027–32 plan you helped shape. That means cleaner streets, safer public spaces, more greening, a stronger destination and an organisation focused on Vauxhall’s businesses.
The result is decided by those who vote. Please don’t leave it to others.
