Vauxhall One, the Business Improvement District for Vauxhall, has been voted in for its third 5-year term.
Earning a victory with 87.4% of voters and 94.5% by rateable value, Vauxhall One will continue its work to shape the largest regeneration zone in Europe. The BID’s vital projects will make the area cleaner, greener, safer and promote the area as a destination for the next five years.
Aseem Sheikh, Chair of Vauxhall One, said:
“We are absolutely delighted by the strong show of support by the businesses in Vauxhall in believing in us to be their collective voice for the next 5 years. Over the last decade we have delivered some transformational urban realm and placemaking projects. The next term will be as enterprising as ever in promoting Vauxhall as one of London’s leading cultural destinations.
The BID has been a symbol of continuity and reassurance, when much around us in Vauxhall has changed dramatically. When we began this journey in 2011, I don’t believe any of us would have predicted the change we could help deliver to those that work, live and play here. It has been an honour to help shape that change.
We have been privileged to have the expertise of a diverse and dedicated Board to help shape the next 5 year mandate. The pandemic also helped strengthen and unlock value through stakeholder partnerships, ensuring we all have returned to a Vauxhall that is as vibrant as ever. On behalf of the Board, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our Management Team and in particular our CEO Bernard Collier who has been instrumental in helping deliver our ambitious plans.”
Cllr Claire Holland, Leader of Lambeth Council said:
“I would like to congratulate Vauxhall BID for the fantastic ballot result, which is proof of the hard work and dedication that they have shown to local businesses and residents. We are looking forward to continuing working closely with them over the course of the next 5 years, developing Vauxhall’s reputation as a destination for Londoners and supporting businesses recovering after the pandemic.”
