Vauxhall One was delighted to be involved with the first COLOURS & CULTURES festival in Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens on 3rd and 4th August.
Presented by local performing arts school, Neon Arts, and Live+Breathe, this three day, outdoor and indoor festival celebrated south London’s diverse community and green spaces.
Produced through collaborations between local young people and established artists, the line-up included original live performances, workshops, talks, DJ sets, and local food markets.
COLOURS & CULTURES wove together threads of art, culture, environmentalism, and social justice into an opportunity designed to enrich the community and pave the way for a more inclusive and sustainable future. Its aim was to celebrate diversity, amplify marginalised voices, foster inclusivity, and create opportunities for those facing inequality.
Vauxhall One’s role was to provide funding on behalf of the business community, and to support with event management and infrastructure. Emanuela Pagliei, Artistic Director of Neon Arts, said:
“We were very grateful for Vauxhall One’s support with hosting this large-scale event. It’s the first time we have taken on such a challenge, so it was invaluable to call on your team’s experience in event management and logistics.
We were thrilled with the success of the event – it was wonderful to see families and groups from across the Vauxhall community joining in with the activities and enjoying the performances.”
We look forward to working with the team at Neon Arts again and to bringing COLOURS & CULTURES back to the Pleasure Gardens in summer 2025.
