Important information for businesses in the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens and Walnut Tree Walk area.
Lambeth is planning changes to localised traffic movements in the streets surrounding Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens as part of its Vauxhall Healthy Neighbourhood initiative. This article is aimed at businesses in the immediate local area, to help you understand how the proposed changes might affect you.
What is happening?
Later this year, Lambeth Council will be delivering the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens Healthy Neighbourhood scheme as a trial using an Experimental Traffic Order (ETO). During this 18 month trial, traffic management changes will be tested in the area. These will include traffic filters and new two-way systems, as well as different kerbside uses including cycle parking, parklets and greening.
The streets subject to changes are shown in the Design Flyers available to download below, and on the Lambeth Have Your Say website.
Why should you be involved?
Before the ETO is launched, Lambeth want to gather insights on business traffic and delivery movements in the area to help understand whether they have found a solution that meets the goals of the trial and is sensitive to the needs of the community.
If you think access to your premises will be affected, we urge you to provide feedback via this link by Monday 9 June.
What are the benefits?
A Healthy Neighbourhood makes it easier to walk, wheel, scoot, and cycle by reducing through traffic. Supporting these types of journeys reduces congestion, improves air quality, and promotes more active lifestyles, easing pressure on health services.

We want local business to thrive alongside Lambeth’s innovative Kerbside Strategy, and we encourage a business perspective on these new plans. Vauxhall One will host meetings for local business owners who may be affected by the proposed changes on Monday 9 June. If you would like to attend, please find out more and RSVP via the links below.
